Children’s Writers Needed – Levelled Reading Stories We’re looking for writers for the 10 - 14 age range to create short, levelled reading stories. The Project Follow a detailed brief to write levelled reader stories Aimed at children aged 10 to 14 (reading age around 8 to 14) Set in defined settings (past or present) with cultural guidelines Some stories may link as a mini series You should be able to: Write engaging but accessible stories Keep language controlled and readable, suitable for EAL learning Build simple: character motivation cause and effect light tension We’ll provide guidance on: Level expectations Cultural considerations Experience Required Children’s writing Experience Preferred Educational content Reading schemes or levelled books Writing for EAL learners
